THE ARTS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE WORKSHOP
This three hr. workshop is of course open to all but might have particular significance for educators and facilitators looking to expand their practices.
It is designed for both experienced and inexperienced players as a way of looking at oppression, finding acceptance for the unique, and recognizing the value of every human being.
Participants explore the themes of marginalization through theater games, dramatic structures and mask exploration leading toward the development of characters and short scenes. This workshop also has a list of the theater tools used in the workshop that can be used by professional facilitators who wish to take the work into classrooms and community settings.
“ I appreciated your work in presenting your inspiring workshop. This was surely the best workshop I've attended at NYU and one I will incorporate into future theatre workshops I hope to teach. You are a real artist and touch many hearts. “ Sincerely, Linda Pallotta
